Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are fibroblasts transformed by tumor cells, playing a key role in cancer progression. The study by Barbazan et al. reveals that CAFs exert mechanical pressure on cancer cells via actomyosin, a phenomenon called encapsulation, altering their behavior. Better understanding these interactions could pave the way for new therapies targeting the tumor microenvironment.
