This video was created by Alice Sapet, a student in the Cell Physics Master at the University of Strasbourg, France.

In this video, we investigate evolution–extinction dynamics using statistical physics methods. We first study the impact of different parameters, such as the number of offspring and the death probability, on the behavior of a population during its evolution. We then focus on the evolution of yeasts and bacteria under external stress. Using these two approaches, we establish a link between numerical simulations and experimental results, and we highlight the different parameters of interest and the resulting behaviors.
